Goat Makes Friends With Tiger At Far East Zoo

A goat surprised everyone by making friends with a Siberian tiger who was supposed to have him for lunch.
Amur, the three-year-old tiger, and the goat, named Timur have lived in the same enclosure for more than 3 days already and the goat has been sleeping in the Tiger’s bedding.

"Tigers at our park get live prey twice a week. Amur likes to hunt goats and rabbits but he did not want to eat this one as he [the goat] is brave," a park official said.

The official also added that the tiger and the goat walk and eat together, “The goat considers Amur his leader and follows him everywhere. Amur does not regard the goat as his prey."

The Tiger also wants to protect his new friend from Zoo Keepers, "Yesterday after having dinner, Amur [the tiger] waited for Timur to enter the shelter. He hissed at the keeper, warning him not to approach the goat," said the park official. He also noted that the tiger is showing a new kind of aggressiveness towards his care takers.
