According to Sina News, the parents of the poor boy went out to buy some things and left the boy in the car when the BMW locked itself with no windows left open. The child was crying and clawing at the window (and probably cursing at his mother) as crowds gathered around the car. When the firefighters arrived at the scene they were ready to smash the window, get the boy out, and save the day. However, the mother had more important things in mind. She insisted on waiting for a locksmith because (wait for it) she didn't want to pay for repairs. You heard that right, there was absolutely no way she was letting these people get near her precious car. What with all the repair costs and all, of course smashing the windows was a ridiculous idea. Right? Right?!
The firemen and policemen dispatched to the location (this happened in in Yiwu, Zhejiang province in China by the way) tried to exorcise the evil spirit possessing the mother to no avail. She didn't want to fork out a single coin for repair work. Heat was building up in the car, but thankfully one of the firefighters went ahead and smashed the window anyways for fear of the boy's safety.
Fortunately the boy got out unharmed, but imagine what could have happened if nobody stood up to the mother. It makes us cringe just thinking about it.
